What do we do with your personal data?
At The 93% Club, we want to help state educated students get the most out of their time at university through organising upskilling workshops, events with employers and socials. We also want to support state educated professionals throughout their career, as well as supporting them to support state educated students, whilst ensuring that we maintain an inclusive environment. We use your personal data to help us organise the sort of activities that you like to come to, and to keep you informed about those activities, as well as ensuring that our outreach and activities reach those who need it most. We can do this because we have a legitimate interest in knowing who is participating in our activities and in being able to share with them details of our activities (including any changes) and related activities.
Additional optional information we only keep and use with your consent. We rely on consent as a legal basis for marketing/fundraising communications which fall outside our core programme activity.
For members who attend workshops with employers: we may disclose your personal information to the relevant employer for the purposes of enabling them to facilitate the workshop according to your needs.
The 93% Club Foundation operates at a number of university campuses across the UK through student societies. We collect your data from the student societies to ensure that we are able to run our programmes for as wide a range of individuals as possible at a national level and tell you about our events in our national newsletter. For our employer partners and its volunteers, we will process your personal information in order to fulfil our obligations related to such contracts and agreements with commercial partners and suppliers.
Why do we collect this data?
To understand our membership, to offer places on our national programmes, to offer you opportunities, to undertake research and evaluation on our impact, to speak to sponsors about our membership base, to review your career progression and to offer you support. For donors, we collet your data for information giving and promotional purposes, and to undertake evaluation about our work.
What type of personal data do we collect?
Students
We collect your name, home contact information (address and telephone number), date of birth, gender, educational details, any qualifications attained, predicted grades, and any free school meal and/or household income data), details relating to any work experience or job that you may have had or will have (including salary information), personal interests and academic/career aspirations. We may also collect special category data (as defined by applicable data protection laws) from you. This includes information about your ethnic origin and any disabilities or medical conditions you may have.
Sponsors
We collect information which may include your name, contact information, employment information and bank details.
Donors
We collect information which may include your name, contact information, employment information and bank details.
Professional members
We collect information which may include your name, contact information, employment information and bank details. We may also collect special category data (as defined by applicable data protection laws) from you.
Suppliers and other related organisations
We collect information which may include your name, contact details and bank information.

When you visit our website, we (and our service providers) may use cookies and other technologies to automatically collect the following information:

Most of the personal data we use is processed by us on the basis of our legitimate interest. This legitimate interest is primarily related to the delivery of our programmes. It is in our legitimate interest to process personal data required from the running of these programmes and for carrying out day to day operations as an organisation.

Within The 93% Club, access to your personal information is restricted to certain volunteers of the National Committee on a need-to know basis or as required by law. you are engaging with, participating in, supporting or volunteering in our national and local events;
you become a member of The 93% Club;
engaging with third party sources (receiving emergency contact details, public sources or social networks).
How long do we keep your personal data?
We will only retain your personal data for as long as it is necessary for the purpose for which that data was collected and to the extent permitted by applicable laws. When we no longer need to use your information, we will remove it from our systems and records and / or take steps to promptly anonymise it so that you can no longer be identified from it (unless we need to keep your information to comply with legal or regulatory obligations to which we are subject).
In all cases, our need to use your personal information will be reassessed on a regular basis, and information which is no longer required for any purposes will be disposed of safely.
We do not transfer your personal data to other countries.

You are under no legal obligation to give us your personal data if you do not wish to. The 93% Club Secretary is responsible for the management of data (from collection through to disposal).
We have implemented technical and organisational security measures in an effort to safeguard personal information in our custody and control. Such measures we have implemented include, limiting access to personal information only to volunteers and authorised service providers who need to know such information for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice, as well as other technical, administrative and physical safeguards.
While we endeavour to always protect our systems, sites, operations and information against unauthorised access, use, modification and disclosure, due to the inherent nature of the internet as an open global communications vehicle and other risk factors, we cannot guarantee that any information, during transmission or while stored on our systems, will be absolutely safe from intrusion by others, such as hackers.

The Charity does not use computers to analyse your data in order to make computer decisions about what communications the charity should, or should not, send to you.
